PVC windows RC 1 N

Definition: RC 1 N (resistance class RC 1 N)

Resistance class RC 1 N is a certified class for burglar resistant components according to DIN EN 1627:2011 (this version of the standard has replaced the pre-Standard from 1999). Table NA.6 of the standard describes the perpetrator type according to this class as follows: Components of the resistance class 1 gives a basic protection against burglar attempts with physical force like foot-kicks, jumping against, shoulder-throw, and pulling up and pulling out (predominant vandalism). Building components of resistance class RC 1 N give only low protection against the use of lever tools.

"N" in the classification code means, that in this resistance class requirements on the used glazing could freely arranged and no normativ minimum requirements exist. Therefore e.g. insulated glass without laminated safety glass also can be used.

Building components of this type represent a basic protection against burglar attempts and should only be used, where no direct access to the house is possible.

PVC windows RC 2

Definition: RC 2 (resistance class RC 2)

Resistance class RC 2 is a certified class for burglar resistant components according to DIN EN 1627:2011 (this version of the standard has replaced the pre-Standard from 1999). Table NA.6 of the standard describes the perpetrator type according to this class as follows: The infrequent perpetrator tries additional to physical force (see resistance class RC 1 N) to break up the closed and locked element with simple tools like screwdriver, pliers and wedges.

Building elements of this resistance class represent the burglar protection sufficing mostly for the private living quarter and should be used at all directly accessible places at the house.

By the equipment with a laminated safety glass windows in this resistance class show an increased lever protection at the mounting hardware and should be used where a direct attack also has to be expected on the glazing.
